Is Paragliding safe?
When you fly with experienced pilots and in the right conditions, paragliding is an incredibly safe and well-managed adventure sport. We carefully monitor weather conditions and prioritize safety so you can focus on the thrill of the flight.
How long do tandem flights last?
The typical flight lasts around 20 minutes. We do have the option for extended flights, please contact us for details on this.
Is there a weight restriction to fly?
Yes, the maximum passenger weight is 350 lbs. There’s no minimum weight requirement. If over 225 lbs it becomes weather conditional based and we are more than happy to help you out. If you’re unsure, just reach out—we’re happy to help you get ready for takeoff.
Do I need any training or experience to fly?
Not at all. No prior experience is required for tandem flights. You’ll be flying with expert pilots who will instruct you on everything before and during your flight—your only job is to relax and enjoy the experience of a lifetime.
What should I wear? What do I need to take?
Glasses (we require all passengers to wear glasses of any type)
Closed toes shoes
A light Jacket or a windbreaker
Water and Sunscreen

What is the minimum - maximum age to fly?
There’s no minimum or maximum age—just a readiness for adventure. Anyone under 18 will need a parent or legal guardian to sign a liability waiver.
What time of day do we fly?
We chase the best skies. Most flights happen in the calm, golden hours of the morning or late afternoon, leading into sunset for truly unforgettable views.
Where will we meet?
We fly from a variety of stunning locations and choose the best one based on the day’s conditions. You’ll receive detailed instructions 24 hours before your flight so you know exactly where your adventure begins.
What is launching like? Do I have to run off a cliff?
No cliffs, no leaps of faith—just a smooth, exciting takeoff. As the wing rises overhead, you’ll take a few easy steps forward… and suddenly, you’re airborne.It’s effortless, exhilarating, and unforgettable.
Is Paragliding the same as Parasailing?
No—paragliding is a completely different sport from parasailing. Parasailing involves being towed behind a boat while attached to a parachute and limited to 500 feet above the ground.
In our case, you’ll be towed by a boat up to approximately 2,500 feet above the lake. Once at altitude, we release from the tow line and continue flying freely, offering all of the joys of learning how to soar. If the weather cooperates we even have the ability to climb in thermals all the way to 18,000 feet!!!!!
What's the booking process look like
Once you book by either hitting the book now box, calling, texting, or emailing you secure your time slot in our calendar. We typically call you right back but please give 24 hours, if you want to talk immediately call our number. We give 24 hour advanced notice to you the day before your flight and we confirm that the weather looks good. You arrive at location usually Stampede reservoir in Truckee CA, then we go fly!!! What does Paraglide Tours offer? Tandem paragliding flights and full paragliding instruction — from an intro lesson throughP2 certification — in the Reno-Tahoe area.
How much does a tandem flight cost? A tandem flight is $299 per person, with a $49 deposit due to reserve your spot.
Do I need experience to fly? No.
Tandem flights require no prior experience — your instructor handles everything before and during the flight.

Where do flights launch from?Launch location depends on the day's weather and conditions. You'll receive your specific meeting location by phone or text 24 hours before your flight. We operate in the North Lake Tahoe Area Off Mt. Rose, In Truckee CA at Stampede and Boca reservoir, At Kings Beach CA, at Sand Harbor NV.
Is paragliding the same as parasailing?
No. Parasailing tows a passenger behind a boat under a parachute, typically up to about
500 feet.
Paragliding involves a tow launch up to roughly 2,500 feet, followed by free,unpowered flight — often higher in good conditions.
What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate? Paragliding is weather-dependent.
